Copeland Solutions Recognized in 2024 Dealer Design Awards
Two Copeland products receive awards in this year’s Dealer Design Awards.
ST. LOUIS (July 29, 2024) – Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions, announced that two of its products, the oil-free centrifugal compressor with Aero-lift™ bearing technology and the 4MTLS transcritical CO2 semi-hermetic compressor, were honored with silver and bronze awards respectively by the 2024 Dealer Design Awards program sponsored by The Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration (ACHR) News Magazine.
The Copeland oil-free centrifugal compressor was engineered to provide worry-free performance and meet the rigorous demands of modern air- and water-cooled chiller applications. Frictionless Aero-lift bearing technology simplifies the application of oil-free compressors, all while delivering high-lift performance, increased reliability and efficiency improvements in full- and part-load conditions. Because the compressor does not rely on oil for system lubrication, associated costs and reliability concerns are reduced.
“The Copeland oil-free centrifugal compressor with Aero-lift bearing technology offers breakthrough performance and efficiency improvements in demanding chiller applications. Unlike other oil-free compressor solutions that rely on electromagnetic levitation bearings, Copeland’s Aero-lift bearing technology delivers oil-free simplicity without sensor and controls complexities. The results are increased reliability and efficiency, robust performance in high-ambient environments and increased operational continuity during power outages. These enhancements make the Copeland oil-free centrifugal compressor an ideal solution for air-cooled and water-cooled chillers used in mission-critical data centers, large health care facilities and heat recovery applications,” said Mike Oakley, director of centrifugal solutions, Copeland.
The Copeland 4MTLS28ME transcritical CO2 semi-hermetic compressor expands Copeland’s application range and capacity of its transcritical CO2 semi-hermetic compressor product line. With the largest displacement in the product lineup, the new Copeland 4MTLS expands options for the design of CO2 booster systems. This new addition to Copeland’s CO2 product offering supports the rapid global adoption of CO2 refrigeration, as retailers make the transition to lower-GWP refrigerants.
“As the refrigerant transition continues to progress, the demand for CO2 refrigeration is expected to increase exponentially over the next five years,” said Jeff Lichty, director of product management, refrigeration, for Copeland. “The largest displacement of the Copeland transcritical CO2 semi-hermetic compressor gives stakeholders additional flexibility, potentially requiring fewer compressors and lowering the applied costs and complexities of CO2 booster system design. The 4MTLS builds on our commitment to providing fully integrated system components for a wide variety of CO2 refrigeration applications.”
Both the Copeland oil-free centrifugal compressor with Aero-lift™ bearing technology and the 4MTLS transcritical CO2 semi-hermetic compressor embody Copeland’s commitment as a climate solutions leader to drive innovation that helps to achieve regulation and industry driven sustainability targets.
Now in its 21st year, the Dealer Design Awards program recognizes exceptional manufacturing of HVACR technology as well as product designs that benefit HVACR contractors.
